Tu BiShvat, the fifteenth of the Hebrew month of Shevat, is the new year of the trees. It falls in late January or early February, when the almond trees start to blossom in Israel. Planting trees in Israel has been part of the day for generations, and for families outside Israel, dedicating one is the way to take part.
Ways to give a tree on Tu BiShvat
- In honor of a teacher or rabbi. Choose *In Honor Of* and write a line about what they planted in you.
- For a child or grandchild. A tree that grows up alongside them, with a certificate they can keep.
- In memory of someone who loved Israel. The holiday is a gentle moment to remember them.
- From a whole class or office. A grove of 10 trees in the group's name.
A Tu BiShvat table
The holiday is often marked with a seder of fruits and nuts, especially those of the Land of Israel: dates, figs, almonds and more. Our dried fruit and nut gifts make a ready-made table for the day.
How it works
Pick the number of trees, choose the dedication, write a short message and pay. The certificate arrives by email, usually within minutes, and can be printed. Trees are planted by our planting partner, the Jewish National Fund.
