About Herbert & Phyllis
Herbert & Phyllis is a kosher gifting company based in New York, operated by Taim Lee Foods LLC. We help people mark life’s moments — condolence and shiva, mazel tov, thank-you, a new baby, or simply thinking of someone — with gifts that are thoughtful, kosher, and delivered with care.
What we make
Our food gifts are premium dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate, arranged by hand and packed to arrive fresh. Every food gift is kosher certified; the certifying agency depends on who prepares it: our dried fruit and nut gifts are Star-K certified, and freshly prepared items are certified by the kitchen that makes them. We also offer trees planted in Israel — a living tribute that comes with a personalized certificate, delivered by email and available as a printable PDF.
How we operate
We are an online shop — there is no retail storefront to visit. Our food gifts are assembled and dispatched for us by established kosher-certified suppliers and bakeries in California, New Jersey, New York and Florida; the certifying agency is named on the product page where we can state it. Your order ships directly from the facility that packs it. Trees are planted in Israel on your honoree’s behalf and what you receive is the dedication certificate, not a plant.
We are a small team, we answer our own email and phone, and you can reach a person before or after you order.
How we ship
We ship across the United States with free standard shipping and no minimum. Orders placed by 1pm ET ship the same business day, and you can see standard, two-day, and overnight arrival dates before you check out. Every order is tracked, and if anything arrives damaged or late we’ll replace it or refund it — see our return policy and shipping policy.
